This rudder kit is designed to fit rudder-ready Wilderness Systems Tsunami and Tarpon series kayaks manufactured in 2009 and later. Also fits the Pamlico 145 tandem.Features/Benefits:
- Designed for use with rudder-ready kayaks (kayak includes a rudder-ready post hole)
- Metal rudder is designed to be turned/steered with your feet
- Rudder can be easily raised or lowered with a tug of the cord
- Includes metal rudder, sliding foot pegs, cords, and all mounting hardware
- BTS (Blade Tracking System) rudder system

The rudder and materials are very good. The instructions are very poorly written and there are no pictures to guide you in installation. There is a 6 part YouTube video that was helpful (search on Pamlico 45T rudder). There are also two other forms of instruction on-line that you can print. Taken together you can figure out how to instll the rudder. Too bad that the manufacturer has not taken the time to do a better job of this. Once in place the rudder works great. My kayak used to track very poorly especially in wind and current. Now it is like having power steering. I spend more of my energy propelling the boat rather than steering.

After looking around online for ages for a rudder kit for my WS Tsunami 140 kayak I finally ordered this kit from EMS. So what a surprise after opening the kit to find it is only for "rudder ready" model kayaks. What does than mean? It means that the kit is only suitable for kayaks built after the 2009 model year that have the cable tubes already installed. I ended up having to order tubing online and buy extra parts from my local hardware store to complete the installation. [...]
