Have used the Seals 4.2 for over a year summer and winter. Normally, I keep the kayaks hung to the garage rafters over winter so there is little or no problem with bugs, dirt, leaves, and rodents. Outside I built three PVC pipe folding stands to hold the kayaks, always bottom side up. Kayaks stored right side up are stored incorrectly outside. The Seals cover is perfect for driving, holds tight, is tough fabric, keeps wind drag down, rain out. I recommend it highly.

Don't under estimate the problem of pooling water. When there's enough water pooled, the sides will pull into the center and water will enter the the kayak. If you're hanging it, there will be a significant increase in weight, which could exceed the weight capacity of the hanging hardware. I tightened the stretch cord as much as I could and it still pulled into the center. I'm sure this won't stop rodents from entering if you're storing it at ground level, they'll just chew through it.

Bought this cover to keep insects from nesting inside the kayak. Don't care for the feel of the fabric, but only time will tell if it's durable.

I purchased one for myself, then I bought this size cover for my mom. Snug fit and much more durable than other brands I've tried. Straps ensure that cover stays in place when kayak is in rooftop rack for long road trips.

This cover fits my Liquid Logic Saluda Perfectly. I bought it so i could travel with my paddels, fishing pole and life jackets in the kayak while driving. It has no tendency to slip off while driving, it is built very well, its MADE IN THE USA and its made of quality materials. I have driven over 1,600 miles with it covering my cockpit and had no water get in and it has never blown off. It is a tight fit, so yes its tough to get on, but if you work the front on, then pull it with both hands down the sides, the back slips right on tightly. A one person job if the boat is on the ground. Its a little tougher if its already on the car, but perfectly doable.

The best is the reference book. I have a variety of boat from whitewater to 14.5' sea kayak. Seals are the only cockpit covers and spray skirts I'll buy.
