Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports OBOZ Men's Wind River BDRY Backpacking Boots:
I bought these last summer to replace my much abused Merrells for DIY elk hunting in NW Wyoming's Snake River Range. I was LEARY about the 'B-Dry' waterproof (I trust Gore-Tex & eVent), so when I picked them up from EMS, I went home, laced them up all the way with dumbbells in them and put them in a tub w/water 1" from the top of the boot. I waited 2.5 hours and removed them. Was pleased to find them bone dry! They are Very comfortable & supportive, with great traction. They performed flawlessly on a 10 day hunt; climbing, side-sloping and descending (under heavy pack-I was successful). I never got any hot spots or bruising, my feet stayed very happy! Merrell who? These rock, Buy them!!

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports OBOZ Men's Wind River BDRY Backpacking Boots:
Tried on every boot in the store (and other stores) and these felt the best. Have owned Hi-Tech, Vasque & Merrill and these are the best hikers I have had so far. Extremely stable boot yet plenty of flex when needed. I did have to use a set of Superfeet as the insole didnt cut it. Good for short day hikes and backpacking. Did a 12 mike Day on Mt Washington with a 40lb pack. no complaints. So far have done nine 4k hikes and i am very happy.

Have not had a lot of outings yet,but so far so good and I use them! I walk for shed antlers and I call it pounding ground, daylight till dark through wet ,dry ,snow ,standing water, rocky fields ,timber, hills ,flats, corn stubble , briers ect.
I had some decisions to make when I went to the ems store in pittsford ny and the young lady Anna was so helpful and really helped make a decision she was very knowledgable Thank you Anna!

these boots are amazing.... they fit very snug...it was about 70 deg,, when we went... my feet were on fire... even with those phd wool socks....i never felt more secure walking over some very decent rough terrain... no issues the 1st day...i loved them so much.. i went back by myself the next day... and had a blast... no issues... altho my feet were alittle sore...but i really dont believe from the boots.... these boots are very very rugged and stiff...absolutely love the sole design......again i felt so safe stable secure even.. i know that may sound silly.. but i am no pro hiker..but confidence was great....thanx hope you enjoy as much as i did and do...scotty

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports OBOZ Men's Wind River BDRY Backpacking Boots:
Needed new boots having worn down my Merrill Ventilators and wanted a full height boot to lace up tight and save my toes on down climbs. Bought these before a 40 mile Grand Canyon hike. They stood up well down the Hermit Trail when I really needed the stability and protection. Did equally well across the desert of the Tonto Platform. Great boots that needed basically no break in, seem very well constructed and really protected my feet on some nasty scrambling and downclimbing. Needed a half size bigger than normal and like many waterproof boots, they could breath better.

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports OBOZ Men's Wind River BDRY Backpacking Boots:
this boot is excellent... i hiked the A.T. trails with these and was surprised just how good these boots were. the only problem i had was a tiny blister on top of my big toe. i think it was caused by the stitching on the inside part of the toe box.. i wore thicker socks and had no problems.. over all while the price is a bit steep, i would definitely recommend these and if you see them on sale buy 2 pair...
