Comments about OBOZ Womens Wind River:
I used these for the first time for a 17 mile- 2 day backpack trip. They were waterproof and sturdy. I got a size 7 instead of 6 or 6 1/2 based on other reviews and am glad I did. Mostly very comfy. Still have to figure out how to tie them so that I don't bump against the front of the boot. So far though quite impressed!
Pros

Comments about OBOZ Womens Wind River:
I have not done any backpacking in these boots yet. I've done some long day hikes and the boots do well for that. I just love the traction that the soles provide. I am very sure footed in these when all of the other hikers seem to be losing grip. Have not had them out in the rain either. We'll have to wait and see how waterproof they really are. Comfortable and no break in period.

Comments about OBOZ Womens Wind River:
The boots are advertised as being waterproof and I was told the same in the store when I went in to buy them, however after the first day of a 5 day backpacking trip I found out they are not waterproof or even water resistant at all! Every single puddle or mud bog I stepped in filled my boot from the tops of the toe area with water, which then of course quickly froze as I was hiking in late October. Almost lost my toes to frostbite after my boots froze solid every night. I will never trust an EMS salesperson's advice again, and I will also never buy this company's product again.
