Comments about THE NORTH FACE Men's Paramount Peak Convertible Pants:
Have worn this sytle of hiking pants for years. They have the same great material that they started with. The pants are durable and rugged enough for all of the styles of hiking I do.
I really wish Northface did not mess with their pocket design or types. The older style pants had much better pocket design and types of pockets.

Comments about THE NORTH FACE Men's Paramount Peak Convertible Pants:
The pants are made from a wonderful material and I love the cut. There are a ton of pockets and the pants look great. They are breathable and light.
There is however one fatal flaw, the zippers on the pant legs that hold the shorts and legs together are cheap. I bought three pairs of these pants and each of them has had at least one of the zippers break. Nothing worse than going camping and discovering your pants must now be worn as shorts the rest of the trip because of a cheap zipper.

Comments about THE NORTH FACE Men's Paramount Peak Convertible Pants:
I have worn these pants for years and they hold up great. The material is strong but lightweight and very easy to clean. I use these for backpacking and they have been scraped over boulders and fallen trees, poked with sticks and branches, pushed through thorns, smeared with river muck and trail mud, and after at least 4 years they do not have a single tear, hole, or stain. I also wear them for traveling as they are so comfortable and airport friendly. The leg zippers are small but have performed flawlessly. (The other reviewer who kept breaking them is doing something wrong.) They layer very well over a base layer; they dry in minutes whether wet from a shallow stream or dew on trail foliage. Airport, AT, campus, or church, these pants are great for all!

Comments about THE NORTH FACE Men's Paramount Peak Convertible Pants:
I now own three pairs of these pants because they are so comfortable and functional. I wear them for both casual and outdoors purposes. Very breathable during active hiking. Fabric can take a beating and still looks brand new. Zippered valuables pocket is great while traveling.

Comments about THE NORTH FACE Men's Paramount Peak Convertible Pants:
I wore these pants on a recent hiking trip to mount Kilimanjaro. They are very durable and comfortable. The built in belt is key for long hiking trips where you might lose a little weight. I love the pocket structure and zip off option. My only con is that it is difficult or impossible to get the zip-off leg over your boot depending on your shoe size. may require taking off your boots to convert to shorts
They also Clean easily for re-wearing while on long hiking trips with no access to washing machine.

Comments about THE NORTH FACE Men's Paramount Peak Convertible Pants:
I bought these pants because I was traveling to Europe. I hate having to wear pants early because of cool weather, and burning up later in the heat. They work well. The leg zippers are easy to use, and conveniently color coded. The side pockets, while not that fashionable, work well to store the unzipped pant legs.
The pants fit well. I'm 5'11" and 160 lbs, and the pants fit comfortably with the elastic waist without having to use the included elastic belt.
I dislike the elastic belt. I would rather the pants use a standard belt.
Loved the zippered pocket inside the right hand pocket. Worked great to keep money and credit cards safe in Italy.

Comments about THE NORTH FACE Men's Paramount Peak Convertible Pants:
Use these for everyday and climbing in the gym, but great for backpacking and hiking. Very comfortable (a little long in the legs), and lots of pocket space. Removeable legs are great for changing weather and temperature. I have 3 pair and love these.

Comments about THE NORTH FACE Men's Paramount Peak Convertible Pants:
I wish they came in lengths because I had to have them shortened and was charged extra since the tailor had to move the zipper. But overall, a great pant/short combo. Will get plenty of use out of these.
