Comments about BLACK DIAMOND Cyborg Pro Crampons:

I purchased these BD Cyborg crampons to replace my first generation Grivel Rambos. I wanted a crampon for both waterfalls and technical alpine climbs. After using a pair of borrowed Stingers which worked very well for waterfall ice, I figured the dual point Cyborgs would be the ticket.

I love the attachment system, by far the nicest that I have used. They are on the heavy side, almost a half pound heavier than similar models by Grivel and Petzl. I was very disappointed when I used them on a 300 meter steep, mixed ice and rock alpine climb. The front points kept popping out of what should have been good placements in good ice. The froint points also feel too long and there is no way to adjust the length with out moving the boot back in the entire frame. I will continue to use them and hope their inital poor performance was just a fluke.

Good all around crampons. They come with the anti-balling plates. Can be used as mono points or dual points. Enjoy the ice!

Comments about BLACK DIAMOND Cyborg Pro Crampons:

They are perfect, except for one issue - rust. The stainless base doesn't corrode at all. But the front points AND the contact points of the bails rust readily after each use. Not a huge deal since those parts are meant to be replaced eventually. The only part that concerns me a little is the screw which holds the front points in place. I was surprised how quickly it rusts, and worry it might seize. For the price I would have thought they could use a treated or stainless screw.

      Solid & tough

Comments about BLACK DIAMOND Cyborg Pro Crampons:

I've climbed with my BD Cyborg crampons for 20 days now and I they work great. I like that you can switch from mono to dual points. They seem to be staying sharp too.

The crampons fit good on Nepal EVO's.

Comments about BLACK DIAMOND Cyborg Pro Crampons:

I have to say they are really good crampons! I like the ease of getting them on and off and that they really don't budge if you put them on right!

Only downside it I am getting rust after only a couple of uses and dont like where its rusting. It seems to be an anodizing problem.
