Comments about PRINCETON TEC Fuel 4 LED Headlamp:
I bought this two years ago for a weekend camping trip and was glad I had it during Hurricane Sandy. I also found if very useful for fixing things around the house in dim locations. BUT, like many others, I was disappointed when I noticed the battery door latch had cracked. I had only changed the batteries three times before and had always used the tool on the headband to open the latch. Yet, it cracked and while it still works, I know it won't survive another battery change or two. I really would like replace it with another P-Tec product, but this has made me wary. It's a shame because other than the latch, this is a very nice headlight.

Comments about PRINCETON TEC Fuel 4 LED Headlamp:
I purchased a few of these for family after hurricane Sandy. I returned them because the battery door latch was difficult to open. It required something to pry it open. In the cold and darkness of an extended power outage, I don't see this as being desirable. The latch itself seemed brittle and possibly prone to breaking from using a screwdriver or butterknife to pry it open. This is a great company but a bad design. I returned all 4 and got Petzl Tikkas instead. The latch opens much easier with a finger while remaining water resistant.

Comments about PRINCETON TEC Fuel 4 LED Headlamp:
I bought two of these, for myself and for my son. Mine worked well enough last hunting season until I went to replace the battery when the latch that keeps the battery compartment shut broke off. I didn't think much of it until this past month when son returned from Alaska. Due to it being light about 21 hours a day, he never used it but when he unpacked his pack...the latch on the battery compartment was broken. The only problem piece of equipment in 2 weeks of backpacking. I give kudos to the Dulles store manager who didn't hesitate to give a full credit which I immediately applied to a Petzl.

Comments about PRINCETON TEC Fuel 4 LED Headlamp:
I bought two of these for my sons. One works pretty well. It's comfortable and bright. One big complaint we have with that one is that it's hard to push the button to adjust the brightness while it's on your head.
The other one I bought promptly broke. The plastic guide for the head band snapped off rendering it useless. I was very unimpressed with the quality.

Comments about PRINCETON TEC Fuel 4 LED Headlamp:
The light works fine, just be aware that the "latch" for the battery compartment is very thin, and not very durable plastic. My son was given one and we are now on our third one, the previous 2 have cracked in the same spot, and not from misuse.
I would not recommend this to someone who has this as their only source of light and might need to change the battery during a trip.

Comments about PRINCETON TEC Fuel 4 LED Headlamp:
I have other lights with Luxeon/maxbright LEDs and expected the fuel to be dim with only 4 conventional LEDs.
I was wrong.
This thing is plenty bright for night hiking and seeing what essentials are in front of you. Plus, it's sturdily made while being simple.
I wouldn't go mountainbiking in the dead of night with this alone, but it will definitely get you out of the woods.

Comments about PRINCETON TEC Fuel 4 LED Headlamp:
I used it only once so far for car camping. Very bright and very useful for handsfree usage. I wish it would be a little dimmer on the dim setting. Reading at night at the campsite provided an attraction for bugs. But very happy overall.
