Comments about GREGORY Women's Jade 50 Backpack:
I used this backpack on an 8 week trip to Spain. I hiked the Camino de Santiago from St Jean Pied de Port, France to Santiago, Spain and this is the only pack I used. It was amazing. Not only is it the perfect size, but it is comfortable and designed very well. Believe me, I spent seven hours a day walking for over five weeks with this thing!
At first, as with any new pack, the amount of straps may seem overwhelming, but once you play around with it you will see that every strap has a purpose. I cannot recommend this pack enough. If anyone complains about discomfort with this pack it would have to be because you do not have it fitted perfectly. Make sure to ask someone in the store to help you fit it correctly if you do not know how.
The pack is roomy with plenty of space. The side pockets on the hip straps are an awesome feature to put your camera, cell phone, chap stick etc in. The pack breaths very well and overall I would say is a pretty good looking pack.
I also want to point out the durability of this pack. I beat the living daylights out of the thing and it still looks great. I threw it down on the ground, sat on it, kicked it, shoved it under bunk beds and into tiny lockers every single day and the signs of wear and tear are minimal. I was seriously surprised that nothing broke off of my pack from me being rough with it and also from being thrown around by plane loaders.
In short, this is a great pack!!

Comments about GREGORY Women's Jade 50 Backpack:
One of the first things I liked about this pack is that it is sized for a woman's build - they didn't "shrink it and pink it." I used this backpack on a 3 week hiking trip. True this might not be the lightest pack on the market - the extra weight is from the padding that helps a heavy load not feel so heavy (and the durable fabric). I was carrying about 20 lbs - not including water and I have a funky back - not one problem with this pack. Popped it on and off I went. (I am no spring chicken either). I had more than enough room for everything I needed. The pack cinches down quite a bit and stays stable against your back. The back panel keeps the pack off your back so air can get through - cuts down on the sweaty factor. I also love that this pack is not up against the back of my head while I hike. Plenty of pockets(though I use a bladder, not a water bottle)...I don't think the pocket would be convenient for a water bottle - without help. Love the hip belt pockets for small items that I needed to keep handy. Convenient access to the interior of the pack. I have friends that have ultralights - that they end up duct taping together as the fabric is so flimsy (and then they are not so light). I abused this pack - and it looks as good as new. I am keeping it! :)
