I take this water bowl when we go on day trips or hiking with our dog. It folds up very small and packs very nice. You can shake most of the water out of it when you are done and not get your other packed stuff wet. Just make sure the dog doesn't use it as a chew toy! I use this bowl for water and the other cinch top one for the dogs food. The two make a great combo. Ruff wear makes some good quality stuff. I plan on buying more of their products.

Used this bowl on several recent hiking trips. The bowl packs up well for fitting into a backpack. But when you retrieve the bowl for use, the shape does not return to normal. The result is my 75 pound dog had trouble drinking from the bowl through the opening.
