Bought it 4 months ago and it was wonderful. I could put the paddle in it, launch, and the paddle was right there. Just the opposite on recovery.
Then yesterday it wouldn't hold the paddle; part had broken off!
Since another reviewer said his broke quickly, I would have to say it is a dud.

I had bought a screw on paddle mount and never got around to installing it, but liked the concept. Then I bought the clip for myself and gave the other one to a friend I thought would be more likely to install it. I LOVE this simple gadget for times I want to float aimlessly, manage a fishing rod, lunch, get in and out of the kayak. Bought a second one for my second boat! I like that it can be run around the gunnel as I tend to hit it occasionally (paddle or elbow) if it's where I mount the paddle - I just scoot it forward until I need it. Sometimes the simplest devices make the experience better! Holds securely unless you hit the mounted paddle quite hard.

must not fit all, be careful when attaching. My broke the first time I tried to used it. Shipping to return it costs just as much as it cost to purchase. I'll cut my losses and just through it away.

Works as intended. Aboslutely no issues with it. It's kept in my dry bag so that I never forget to bring it along.
