Comments about MERRELL Men's Moab Mid GTX XCR Hiking Boots, Beluga:
Bought this prior to a backpacking trip to Philmont Boy Scout Ranch. FOr $100- this boot is unbeatable. The trails were well maintained, not too many places where the trail was not well managed. I could feel every rock and sharp edge - but it wasn't painful or uncomfortable There was no break-in period for me - the boots were as comfortable as running shoes.
I would not recommend these for really heavy backpacks - and rugged, unmaintained trails.

AT thru-hiker just got the shoes after putting too many miles on heavy boots. Great switch, much more comfortable and tons lighter.

Comments about MERRELL Men's Moab Mid GTX XCR Hiking Boots, Beluga:
Perfect for day hikes, even in muddy/wet conditions. Comfortable enough that I wear as everyday shoes during spring and fall. This is my second pair; wore the first pair until the treads wore down after heavy use (they were otherwise still in pretty decent shape for boots worn that much).

This is the second pair I have purchased. The first pair were left in Haiti after a missions trip. I love these boots.

Comments about MERRELL Men's Moab Mid GTX XCR Hiking Boots, Beluga:
Overall; I really liked the shoe, but I normally wear a "wide" shoe, and these were just too narrow (to the point where they hurt my feet). Oddly, the left shoe was way-tighter than the right one (although I realized one foot is usually different; it was way too tight, when compared to the right shoe). I was disappointed that I had to send them back (should make a WIDE).

Comments about MERRELL Men's Moab Mid GTX XCR Hiking Boots, Beluga:
Haven't worn on any hikes yet, but the boots have very poor traction on wet concrete and floors. They will probably have great traction on trails though. Choose something else for urban hiking.

Comments about MERRELL Men's Moab Mid GTX XCR Hiking Boots, Beluga:
Ok boot i guess for the price. I didnt like the fit, also material underneath mesh sounded like a crunchy plastic bag as i moved about. It might be good for narrow feet, not for me
