I was looking for racks to hold my Thule Atlantis 1800 cargo box. I bought these footpacks along with the Aero Bars. I read a ton of reviews on various websites before buying these. They have turned out to be a fantastic purchase. They're very sturdy. I drove from Kansas City to the mountains in Colorado and back with a the car and the cargo box completely stuffed and these footpacks along with the bars had no problem at all.

I was concerned about them scratching my car. I put them on along with the bars and box and drove a few days with it to test it and had no problems or scratches. After my Colorado trip (where I carried a ton of weight on it), there were still no scratches. So needless to say I was very impressed.

Install takes maybe 45 minutes to an hour the first time. After that, it hasn't taken me longer than 5-10 minutes to throw the bars up on there. As far as initial install, I found the videos on Thule's website to be the simplest way to figure it out.

I would definitely recommend this product!

The footpacks were easy to install and adjust. Even locked on to the crossbar, there was wiggle room to twist it slightly to line up better with your rain rails. It's nice that you don't need any tools.

I ordered my entirely new load bars & fit kit from EMS as part of a rack and yak promo. I have a new car (ACURA TL '12) and my old rack didn't fit this car. I took the plunge and upgraded to the Aeroblade, even tho it cost more, and I couldn't be happier. Not only does the look of it complement my nice new car, but it is SO QUIET compared to my old rack I almost couldn't believe it. Installation of a rack is always a little time consuming, but this was much easier than the last time (once you do it it gets easier). I recommend using the video instruction (thank goodness for YouTube). I'm just at the shore for my first kayak experience with my OWN boat this year, and I was up with the birds and looking forward to exploring the back bays this morning. If you're worried about whether to pull the trigger on this one, DON'T. Just buy it.

Bought this foot pack for my Ford Edge. Took the family to Burlington VT for my sons hockey tournament. Couldnt fit his goalie equipment in the car with all of our luggage so I picked up a Thule Tahoe bag and a rack. It was bitterly cold outside when I installed the rack but thankfully this one went on the car very quickly without any problems. Thanks to the built in measuring guides I was able to set everything up before venturing outside and I just put it on the car, measured back from the windshiled and cranked it down. Piece of cake and its sturdy as can be.

Good product - expensive even with EMS discount - absolutely terrible, next to useless, installation instructions

Bought the rack for my snowboard. It was a choice between this or the square bars, glad I went with the rounded bars. The snowboard attachment fits on great.
