Comments about BLACK DIAMOND Contour Shock Trekking Poles:
Wish that I had been told that clamps might need adjustment depending upon use. My first hike was frustrating because I didn't realize that the clamps could be adjusted or that a product was available to increase clamp hold. Poles kept collapsing over course of hike. I'm a full body weight user - up and down the White Mountains.
The grips are great but it seems as though their should be a left and right strap for most comfortable use.

Comments about BLACK DIAMOND Contour Shock Trekking Poles:
I resisted using trekking poles for quite awhile. I have always used my handmade walking sticks. But my backpacking partner always used poles and seemed to be less tired at the end of the day. So I thought I would give them a try and now I'm wondering why did I wait so long. I found my legs had more left in them and my upper body got a workout as well. One of the factors pushing my decision to purchase trekking poles was that I needed them for snow shoeing. Since I haven't had a chance to use them in the snow yet I held back a star. But I'm sure it will get used.

Comments about BLACK DIAMOND Contour Shock Trekking Poles:
I bought the poles to help me transition from knee surgery back to walking and hiking. I used them on a hiking trip in Shenandoah and a tourist trip to DC. They relieved much of the stress from my recovering knee and allowed me to do the trip without pain or injury. I plan to use them for snowshoeing this winter and until I am fully healed I will use them for hiking. The shocks were a bit stiff at first but now they operate nicely.
