Comments about BLACK DIAMOND Contact with ABS Crampons:
These crampons will literally fit any footwear. I put them on my Crocs just to try out and they worked great. Although I would recommend sturdier footwear, the option is there. Stainless is not lighter than chromoly as advertised, but it does score high for its no rust characteristics. I have used them several times and never once dried them off afterwards. The strap system is sturdy, they never once came loose. Back strap is cut low to prevent digging into your heel on long days. Overall this crampon is just plain sexy. And Made in U.S.A.!

Comments about BLACK DIAMOND Contact with ABS Crampons:
I hiked up Giant Mountain and over to Rocky Ridge in the High Peaks a few weeks back. The terrain was steep and icy the entire route. These crampons were an essential for the conditions. They performed excellent in both ascent and descent. I noticed others with snowshoes and ice spikes struggling to cover ground. The only negative would be the pressure on the ball of the foot after a long hike...they do take a little getting used to.

Comments about BLACK DIAMOND Contact with ABS Crampons:
Great Crampon! Built well. Only complaint is the BD Crampon comes with the standard center bar which is about the perfect size for women or kids. Foot size any bigger than men size 10us and you might need to order "Long Center Bar" which is extra. Great Crampon even with that one draw back.

Comments about BLACK DIAMOND Contact with ABS Crampons:
Honestly, since it's June, I haven't tested these yet, but they were highly recommended by 2 avid adventure friends. Price was awesome, they look fabulous. Very reasonable weight for solid steel, so they should hold up well on rock when faced with that. Also, supposedly the material holds up well, no rusting even when not dried immediately. My friend loves hers, I'm expecting same. Easily adjustable fit too!

Used these crampons in ADK and a New Year's Eve Mt. Washington hike. Easy to put on, fit firmly but with the right amount of give. Grips very well on ice and packed snow. Very happy with this purchase.

Comments about BLACK DIAMOND Contact with ABS Crampons:
I wear a size 10 boot, and using them on the last adjustment position, they aren't long enough to properly fit the heel of my boot. They're also quite narrow.
These would be great for a person wearing a size 8 narrow boot.

Comments about BLACK DIAMOND Contact with ABS Crampons:
No more slipping on ice!
I bought these so that I would not have to stop hiking in icy winter conditions. I feel confident traversing ice cascades on trails with these on and now I prefer to hike in the winter.
A male friend bought the same product at the same time and had to find an extension as they were not quite long enough for his boots...but he still loves them too.
