Plan to use with my Vortex Triclimate coat. The inner liner that came with it seems good for really cool days, but for cold New England days or during storms, I wanted the added warmth of the Denali fleece.
I sometimes need an XL because of sleeve length but not this. The L is plenty long. Kind of a strange fit as some spots seem to fit tightly. Under the arms, across the middle shoulders and down the sides. The under the arms is definitely because of Pit Zips adding bulk under your arms where the zippers are sewn in. Across the shoulders, I am still not sure about, maybe just needs to break in.
Otherwise it is what you expect. I was skeptical about North Face as just being fashionable outer wear, but after trying a few of their products, including running gear, I must admit I am impressed with the quality.
