Very happy with product. Have used to carry bike on back roads and on major highways. Bike stays in place and very secure. Easy to put once you figure out where all the straps go for your car. Would definitely recommend!

We bought this rack in order to carry two bikes on our vacation (man's touring bike and woman's mountain bike with Thule 982XT frame adapter, which only contributed to the difficulties--will review it separately). The rack was easy to assemble and mount on our Toyota 4-Runner SUV. We preferred this style rack as a roof-mount is tough on an SUV and only one of our cars has a tow hitch, so this trunk/hatch mount provided the most versatility. We had great difficulty fitting these two bikes side by side (tried facing opposite directions, as per instructions, and facing same direction since we were desperate to make it work and not delay our trip to the beach any longer (wasted over an hour trying to make it work). In the end, we got the bikes to fit by removing the seat and front wheel of the mountain bike and turning the handle bars to the side.
I read reviews that indicated potential difficulty fitting two bikes on this rack and others that claimed no problem. For our return trip, I mounted my touring bike and my adult son's mountain bike and had no problem. Bottom line is that it seems to depend on the size and type of bikes you're trying to put together. I still don't know if there might be a way to make it work with my touring bike and my wife's mountain bike without removing her seat and wheel. I recommend you work out the configuration beforehand so it goes smoothly before it's time to begin your trip.
The six hold-down straps mount the rack to the SUV's rear door and provide a lot of stability. Another strap is provided to secure the bike frames to the rack frame so they can't sway while driving. Each strap will need to be secured to keep the loose ends from flapping in the wind (and potentially causing abrasion on your bikes). I used rubber bands and twist ties to accomplish this. Some sort of velcro strap would be a better permanent solution (maybe Thule can provide them in the future?).

The rack was a breeze to install on my 2011 Camry. The bikes fit perfectly and secure in a snap. The only downfall for me is that I have to remove my daughter's iBert seat in order for the bikes to fit properly. This isn't even a problem really, as the iBert seat has a quick disconnect pin.
