I had to return this it was just too unwieldily. THe weight and overall size makes it just hare to use. I went with the one without rails much easier to use.

This has to be the best in its class, maybe the only in its class. I bought it because I sometimes need to transport 2 bikes and do so infrequently and therefore wanted to avoid the expense of a roof rack. Prior, I transported my bike by popping the front wheel off, folding my rear seats down and stowing it inside. Now that I've had this two years I find myself using it more, which adds a lot of variety to my road cycling. It is great for 2 road bikes, which go on and off in about a minute each. The locks are not all that reliable nor robustly designed, and the cable tensioning mechanism is decent, though tough to fully torque. Otherwise this is an extremely well thought out and executed bit of equipment.

Based on prior experience, I didn't like the traditional bike racks because the bike mounted closest to your car typically touches the bumper.
This rack is perfect and it is easy to load and unload the bikes. The bikes are kept at a good distance from your car. I also like the clean look of cables; you don't have to worry about straps flapping in the wind. It's also very stable. When mounted to my car, it almost appears that it's part of my car. This thing doesn't move.
My only criticism is that it's rather heavy and akward to mount. It's not the type of rack you can take on and off at your leisure. Because of the weight, I haven't used my trunk as I'm afraid that it will damage my bumper when I attempt to close it.
