Comments about THE NORTH FACE Men's Ultra 105 GTX XCR Trail Running Shoes:
This is my second pair of Ultra 105 GTX XCRs, the first finally having worn out after 3 years of moderate trail running and hiking in the mountains of New England - meaning conditions were often cool and wet.
These fit my feet perfectly right out of the box, and are among the rare products to live up to claims of being waterproof and breathable. Also, they look pretty sweet.
Assuming these last as long and as the first pair did, if they're still making them I'm sure a third pair is in my future.

Comments about THE NORTH FACE Men's Ultra 105 GTX XCR Trail Running Shoes:
These things were just not very comfortable after a short distance and they only lasted a short distance! The tread wore out very quickly. I am the type who has things for a long time, IF they hold up. These did not! Separated in other areas too and were used mostly, only, as casual footwear.

Comments about THE NORTH FACE Men's Ultra 105 GTX XCR Trail Running Shoes:
This is a fine trail running shoe until the toe protectors starts to separate from the body. The separation starts after less than 10 miles and just gets worse. At less than 50 trail miles the gap between the toe protector and body is large enough to catch on roots crossing the trail. And when it catches the shoe STOPS and so does your foot. This is my second pair of 105's and both have had this failure.
I like the shoe in all other respects, it's light enough for me, cushioning, traction and stability are all suprizingly good. Even though the toe protectors are now widely separated, the goretex still functions.

Comments about THE NORTH FACE Men's Ultra 105 GTX XCR Trail Running Shoes:
I finally had to buy a new brand of shoes after Solomon changed their shoelace design. I read the reviews for this specific shoe and decided to give it a try. These are by far the best shoes I have owned in a long time. I took them walking in the rain yesterday and while I came back quite drenched, my feet were warm and dry. The shoes keep your feet warm but not hot. They are extremely comfortable and fit exactly as I had expected. They look nice enough that I wear them when I go out regularly, honestly I just like to wear them because they are so comfortable, but they do look really nice also. All in all I would say that every penny spent on these is well worth it.

Comments about THE NORTH FACE Men's Ultra 105 GTX XCR Trail Running Shoes:
I started wearing them to run in snow and they did keep my feet dry. I also used them while shoveling/snow blowing for a number of hours and my feet stayed comfortable warm.
