I run the catskills and up on top, its a mix of forest, rock slabs and more rocks. I had solomons, and they were ok, but too narrow for me, These pups fit perfectly, and I went on my trail running way. I try to run mostly mountain trails, which means rocks and rattlesnakes. I was jumping from rock to rock with the raptors and la sportivas rubber soles stick to them like super glue. I dont even fear wet or mossy rocks, these guys just grip on and I never feel any slips, lets me plow through the rockiest terrian possible. Great stuff.
Ran a 5 hour run and my feet were fine afterwards, no blisters at all. Make sure you have enough room for your toes though, the toe box runs just a little small.
bottom line, if you have rocks on your trails. Get these or the wildcats, they look like the same shoe. I'm getting the c-lite 2.0 in a day, so cant wait to try those out. LOVE La Sportiva.

I had worn this shoe on Breakneck Ridge, a New York State class 3 Scramble, this weekend and I was pleased with it's performance. Breakneck Ridge is a great hike up a 45 degree ridge with over a 1200 foot rise. Once on top it is a good hike for about 8 miles through forests. I normally wear a Size 41.5 but in this shoe I needed a 42.
