This is a great pant but it is cut huge. The size chart that pops up on ems.com does not even apply so I went right to ExOfficio.com and bought a size 10 accordingly. I usually wear an 8 or 10. The pants were gigantic. I would say go down 2 sizes from whatever the size chart says.
While I was trying them on I decided that the zip off feature is not for me. The feel of zippers on my thigh as I walk--particularly uphill--bothers me. Since I had to return these anyway I ended up getting the full leg model (in a size 4 mind you).
Nonetheless, this is a very nice pant and I actually like its classic styling better than the full leg model, which is the one that is a hiphugger, not this one.
My experience buying a full ExOfficio outfit and trying out different styles, is that ExOfficio products are cut large in general. The Bugsway shirt I got is a size small and I NEVER take a small in a shirt.
