Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Men's Thunderhead SYNC Jacket:
An awesome jacket that has gotten even better. I replaced an old EMS Thunderhead jacket with this one in the Picante/Dark Shadow color. The color rocks and the jacket was everything I was looking for - waterproof, durable, cuts the wind and looks good. [...]

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Men's Thunderhead SYNC Jacket:
This is definitely a great laminate shell. Very durable and packs down pretty small. My only fault with it is the fit, aside from being rather boxy (which is normal in this type of shell) it runs very large. I'm a small in just about everything and the only reason I purchased a small in this jacket is because EMS doesn't make an extra-small. Basically it fits and feels like i'm wearing a large. So when getting this, I would suggest sizing down if you want a more natural fit.

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Men's Thunderhead SYNC Jacket:
First couple hikes with this jacket have been great. Went to Cascade/Porter and it was snowing. This jacket kept me warm and dry all the way up and back down. Super pack-able, pit zips are key.

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Men's Thunderhead SYNC Jacket:
Great waterproof jacket similar to the name brands and priced about the same, unless you buy on one of EMS sales events. The back of the jacket has a little bit of a tail for extra protection in the snow. The hat cinches down tight and has a strong brim for added support. I use this as a stand alone rain jacket or layer it over my down sweater and it works flawlessly.

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Men's Thunderhead SYNC Jacket:
Good design, has nice features like double direction front zipper. Many other mfgers are doing away with this critical feature. It is convenient to open up the bottom half of jacket when drive & sitting. Pit zips are always good. Jacket is light weight and roomy enough in the shoulders to accommodate fleece layering. EMS jackets have superior quality and value.

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Men's Thunderhead SYNC Jacket:
Used only on rainy days
Jacket is light enough to wear when warm, but can be layered for cooler weather.
The cut of the jacket is boxed and tends to "tent" when wearing.

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Men's Thunderhead SYNC Jacket:
I bought this partly because we were about to get into a week-long wet-weather cycle and I walk a couple of miles to work daily.
The jacket does exactly what it is supposed to - keep you dry without having you stew in your own sweat thanks to the zippered vents. I've found it comfortable and adjustable to different temperatures easily while on the move. The additional pockets are definitely an upside.
The hood I've found to be over-large and it took me a while to get it just right to avoid both being open to the wind while avoiding the tunnel effect of cutting off peripheral vision.
Be aware that the jacket has no insulation at all. If there's a fifty-degree rain spitting down, you'd best be prepared for fifty degrees. It'll keep you dry, but not warm.

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Men's Thunderhead SYNC Jacket:
I absolutely love this jacket for rain. Its replaced a jacket that cost almost twice as much and wasn't really waterproof. I have zero leaks in this coat. My only issue is I can't figure out how to pack it into itself!
