I have used this light on many camping adventures both in the wilderness and at camp grounds.
This lantern got a real worhout during Hurricane Irene and the freak October snowstorm in 2011. We were without power for days and this lantern only used one set of batteries.
The light output is better than anything I have ever used in the last 25 years of camping.

I used this lantern everyday for 11 days when my home was without power because of Hurricane Sandy. It was the best lantern I had and good lighting with only 4 AA batteries. I plan to get another one to have at my home! When I first got the lantern I thought it was a little small for the price, but it lived it to all expectations.

Clever compact design, but I was hoping for more light output. Seems to be about the same output as a cheap no-name model I purchased from my local hardware store. Personally I travel light when hiking & climbing, relying on just a headlamp, but for people so inclined this would be a good choice for a backpack.
I was looking for something for my home to use during power outages and this doesn't really cut it.

I read the reviews for this and must say that it has lived up to all of the praise. It has a compact design (perfect for travel) yet when you need it, expands to a nice light that is dim-able. It can rest on the fold-out legs, and has folding hooks in the top to hang if you need. I will use this for blackouts, camping, travel, the beach, etc. I would highly recommend this for a non-bulky reliable light that can easily go where you need to go.
