Comments about BLACK DIAMOND Orbit Lantern:
Used these on a trip to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Was surprised at it's size for the price but was then very impressed with it's light output. Light enough to hang fromthe top of the tent and enough light to read by.

Comments about BLACK DIAMOND Orbit Lantern:
I hadn't seen this up close before I ordered it. I just saw it on line. But its pretty cool. Very bright, smaller than expected but this is a good thing, works off regular or rechargeable batteries. Good for emergencies or lightweight camping or travel.

Comments about BLACK DIAMOND Orbit Lantern:
I bought this because Hurricane Irene was fast approaching. I wanted something that ran on smaller batteries, not the expensive and heavy D cells like the big lanterns. I had my doubts, but after using it for the 36 hours our electric was out, I am now so pleased with this lantern. I would definitely buy another if needed. It's lightweight, runs a long time on the 4AAA batteries, and puts out great light. It's a winner!

Comments about BLACK DIAMOND Orbit Lantern:
Not a bad product. Did a lot of research. I like how the light fades and adjust brightness as you hold the button. If the battery is low you can get an additional few hours putting it on a low setting, which is still pretty bright. Perfect for light weight hiking and not very bulky.

Comments about BLACK DIAMOND Orbit Lantern:
This was much smaller than I thought it would be, but it does put out quite a bit of light. It easily lit up my 8 person tent at night, and even worked well to play cards by at night.

Comments about BLACK DIAMOND Orbit Lantern:
Can't find anything wrong with this lantern. I don't keep it on for a long time, since I usually crash early after a long hike. I like it!

Comments about BLACK DIAMOND Orbit Lantern:
When I first opened the box for this lantern, I actually laughed - it looked so much larger in the pictures since there's no point of reference. Luckily though, the light output is impressive - we lit a two-room tent with it and at home I use it on my patio table after dark. You won't be able to light a whole campsite, but like other reviewers said it's perfect for reading and such, weighs practically nothing and takes up no space in a pack. I'd suggest purchasing a lightweight carabiner so you can hook it to anything - the D-ring that comes on it is a little tight.
