Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Women's Boreal 20° Sleeping Bag:
I took this sleeping bag with me during my entire thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail. It lasted the entire trail with no problems expect a snagging zipper. Although, I would have to say that it WAS NOT warm enough for a few of the months I was on the trail. This bag is NOT a 20. Some nights that it was 40 on the trail I froze and was very uncomfortable. I chose the 20 verses the 0 because of weight but there were many nights I would have gladly carried the extra 1 lb 8 oz!!! I'm thru-hiking the Pacific Crest Trail this upcoming year and wanted to take this bag but unfortunately I'm going to have to get a new one that is actually 20.

Merchant response: We appreciate your feedback and have passed it on to our product managers. Sleeping bag ratings are quite subjective and can be greatly influenced by the type of sleeping pad used, whether or not you are in a tent, personal metabolism, etc. We recommend people shop for a bag that is rated 20 degrees warmer than the coolest temp they expect to sleep in. Or think of a 20 degree bag as a bag that will “get you through” a 20 degree night, but it might not be warm & fuzzy.
If I could make a recommendation for your PCT hike it would be for the EMS Women's Mountain Light 0° Sleeping Bag. At 2lbs 10 ounces and stuffing to 9x12 inches it is considerable lighter and much more pack-able than your current bag, yet 20 degrees warmer!
