I'm I big fan of Vibram Five Finger Shoes... I wear mine not so much for sports but as daily shoes: to work, to the store, etc... pretty much everything. You see once you discover them its really hard to put on regular shoes again... they are just so freaking comfortable.
So of course I bought them for my kids...
They are essentially the same as the adult's version but I will point out one warning... they have of course scaled everything down perfectly on the shoes except the fabric... which they can't... but when we are sliding seamed fabric between toes there is a big difference between the thickness of a seam between my adult toes and the toes of a 6 year old...
So... my daughter and so have both had difficulty with them... To do it again I'd probably wait until they were at least 10+ years old ... or were in size 36+

I have used VFFs for a few years now and my 6yr old daughter was dying for having a pair for herself. After 3 days of wearing them she did a 9 mile hike at a state park 2 hours from Manhattan. She loves them. It took her a couple of days to get used to fit each toe in each toe sack/pocket. It is best to try different sizes on for best fit.
