I ordered this product online - looking for comfortable hiking boots. When they arrived, I tried them on and found them to be very uncomfortable, and this was just from walking in a circle in my bedroom. The biggest issue was that the back ankle support of the shoe was rubbing against the back of my foot, at the ankle level. I knew that it would become painful quickly, and decided that I had to return these boots. I would not have bought the shoe if I had the opportunity to try it on in the store. It was an online purchase.

I plan to use these to hike the Inka trail to Machu Picchu in a few months. They offer more ankle support than my Merrell hiking shoes. The soles also feel more firm than the hiking shoes I have (and love), so will be better suited to the longer days hiking on uneven ground. I went out in the snow in them and slid on some ice, but managed to stay upright, probably due to the traction in the sole. I am looking forward to wearing these on a longer hike.

I have a narrow heel so it is always difficult for me to find boots that fit just right without rubbing on my heel. These Teva boots fit well and did not need much breaking in time at all. They are lightweight and comfortable. The only reason that I did not give them a 5 star rating was because after hiking in light rain for 4 hours, my socks were wet. They weren't soaking wet so the shoe is water resistant however not as resistant as I would like.
