I use this pack on my runs during hotter days. I run with my dog and 2 liters is perfect for a 2-5 miles on a hot day with enough for me and some for the dog as well. The flow from the bite valve is excellent, I can squeeze it and fire off a gravity fed stream for the pup and then quench my own thirst as well. The pack itself is extremely durable and the lifetime warranty from Osprey certainly doesn't hurt either.

I will use the Viper 4 for Mtn Biking and running trails. I really like the technical detail of this pack. Osprey always makes cool stuff yet practical. As it is winter here in Michigan and I can't fully use this pack. I am looking foward to giving it a work out.

Let me start by saying this is a great pack for trail running. It functionally does everything right, has the form fitting hydration bladder so you don't feel the water sloshing around while you run. The size is great and it is extremely stable overall on the back. The downside, the elastic used to keep the hydration tube to the shoulder straps is a lower grade than Osprey used on their Raptor and Manta packs. The result, the elastic got stretched out after a couple uses and caused the tube to bounce around when I ran. Overall, great design .... poor execution.
