Comments about OSPREY Talon 33 Backpack:

I bought this pack for winter hiking so that I could carry more layers. I get cold easily so I like to have gloves, mittens, base gloves and hats accessible quickly. This pack has pockets for storing ids, glove liners, hand warmers etc. in a small zippered area on the inside top flap. Outer pocket of flap is great for stashing extra hats, gloves and mittens as needed. The major compartment is large enough to store first aid stuff and outer layers as one warms up. Plus my 7" tablet that I use for navigation. I can stash snacks, hand lotion, chapstick within easy reach on the various strap and zippered pockets. And extra water in the side pockets. Pack is very comfortable when loaded.

I wish the outside pockets were a bit larger for storing smart phone.

Comments about OSPREY Talon 33 Backpack:

This backpack helped me climb Mt. Washington. That should be a good enough description of how good it is. [...]So far so good. This backpack is very lightweight and comfortable, when hiking I forgot that I had a backpack on. It also has features that allow it to be a ski backpack and since I don't ski, I didn't care for it much. My only problem with the backpack has to be with the straps because to me it was confusing to tighten. I'll get used to it eventually. Overall, good backpack for when you hike or travel for 2 to 3 days.

Comments about OSPREY Talon 33 Backpack:

I am just getting back into hiking after a decade long hiatus. I went on my first hike with a regular backpack (like for books), knowing it wouldn't be great, and it didn't take me long to regret this decision. I hiked with someone who was carrying an Osprey and it looked to be well-designed and functional. After looking at the many Osprey choices, I bought myself this Osprey Talon because it offered the balance of size and functionality that I was looking for. This daypack has so many features that I actually had to read the instruction booklet to figure out all that it offers. It has a hydration pouch to hold my Camelback bladder and the tube laid over my shoulder just right, accessible without having to search for it. It has a nifty little system for storing trekking poles when not in use that LOOKS like it wouldn't keep them out of the way, but it really does! It has adjustments in pretty much every direction, so even fully loaded, it was comfortable. You can even adjust the spine of the pack to fit your body. I could reach the things in the upper pocket without taking the pack off and I didn't even think to use the nifty little pockets on the waist strap (next time!) This is just a great day pack, no doubt about it. I highly recommend it.

Comments about OSPREY Talon 33 Backpack:

Had this pack for the last 2yrs hiking the NH 4000ft'rs. I am a small frame woman and it holds all I need for extended hikes. Somewhat small for overnights. Can get the thermarest attached, but no room the sleeping bag. Osprey has great customer service.
