Comments about OSPREY Metron 35 Laptop Backpack:
I've had this pack close to 6 months now and I use it primarily for bike commuting to school in New York City.
Packed inside are mostly books, some clothes, snacks, cellphone, laptop and charger. The pack usually weighs about 25lbs total but wears comfortably when I utilize all the straps (Sternum and Hip).
I like a lot of the features: Cell phone pocket, Bike lock key pocket, helmet holder, and built in rain cover. It holds my laptop securely within its own pocket.
What I don't like about is its access to the main compartment. That main flap gets in the way especially when you have your helmet strapped to it. There should be a zippered access on top of it if you decide not to utilize the flap like their messenger bag. In addition, the main compartment is pretty deep and space is taken up if you put a u-lock in the U-lock pocket on the side. It protrudes into the main compartment making it smaller.
Bike commuting is all about ease of use especially when you're outside trying to lock up your bike and put your bike gear away. That's my biggest con about it and that's why I would rate it average.

Comments about OSPREY Metron 35 Laptop Backpack:
Have other Osprey products and they are great. Needed a new backpack for traveling for work with my laptop, folders, purse, etc. This had all the right features, but it was just way too big. Even tightening the straps, it wouldn't fit...went from my neck pretty much to my thinghs. I am 5'6", so maybe for taller people this would work great. Loved the space and look, unfortunately had to return.
