Comments about GREGORY Baltoro 65 Backpack:
Have friends that love the Osprey, I researched backpacks intensely and hiked with Osprey Talon 33.
Went to store and thought the Osprey Aether was going to be the right one for me until I walked around with 35+ lbs in both Aether and Baltoro 65.
I liked the ventilation component on the Aether, however after walking around for a while it dug into
my back. No matter what your back is going to sweat, so ventilation wasn't a biggie. Aether isn't available in small and I have a short torso, so I tried the Baltoro 65 small, technically it's only 63 L since it's a bit smaller. Walked around for awhile and it fit great, no digs or rubs. Already had it out with serious wt for over 30 miles. Love it, fits great for me. Most importantly I've learned that packs are like shoes, the must fit best for your body/shape. No regrets at all!

Comments about GREGORY Baltoro 65 Backpack:
I used this on my 2012 AT Thruhike. It is a pound to 2 pound heavier than most lightweight packs. However it has so many features that make it worth the extra weight. First the hip belts and shoulder straps are well padded, more than most other pack packs. Second, the hip belts move with your hips and makes steap climbs much more comfortable. Third, the hip (and shoulder straps) are interchangeable so when you lose 25-40 pounds you can change them out. Fourth, the molded frame allows for a comfortable fit, keeping weight off of your shoulders and on your hips. This pack is a little heavier than most other packs, but it allows you to carry more weight comfortably. The straps are designed so that you can easily adjust the pack while hiking. I carried between 38-42 lbs of full pack weight, and sometimes up to 50 lbs comfortably.
