I used to not be interested in sleeping pads until I recently began minimizing my setup and had the extra room to accommodate such luxuries. While this is my first sleeping pad, it is not my first product from Nemo. I expected the same attention to detail in this sleeping pad as I have in my Gogo Elite bivy, and they did not disappoint. Its described as a self-inflating pad, in the sense that if you undo the velcro strap from around it and open the valve it will partially inflate. This is a neat feature, because while you are setting up camp you could have this off to the side inflating and then come back to it and just give it a few puffs of air to top off. It doesn't take long to inflate manually from the start either, maybe about 30sec for the average adult with healthy lungs. It has these cool non-slip grips on the bottom to prevent it from sliding around your tent, also. It has a mummy-type shape to it as opposed to the traditional rectangle, which I assume was done to shave weight. Overall great pad, haven't used it outdoors yet but laid on my granite tile floor with it and felt comfortable so i imagine if i have to sleep on a rocky base then it will do just fine.

I took this brand-new purchase out for an easy overnight trip to try it out. SUPER light, easy to inflate, and packs down to nothing (this, AND my lightweight sleeping bag, fit easily into the bag compartment of my pack). However....it did not stay inflated. Re-inflated twice at night, still woke up on cold hard ground. Sent back for replacement...we'll see
