Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Women's Long Trail 60 Backpack:
I bought this as my very first multi-day hiking backpack. I had the salesperson help me with fitting in the store, and thought I was good to go. I took the pack out on an 8 mile day hike and by the last few hours of the hike, I was totally miserable because the shoulder strap edges were digging into my shoulders at the edges of my collarbone. I tried adjusting the straps in a multitude of ways but no matter what, I still had pain. The pain lasted for 3 days afterward. I just returned the pack yesterday and exchanged it for an Osprey. The salesperson at the store (North Conway, NH) told me that he'd heard similar complaints and that EMS could do a better job of contouring the pack to a woman's form.

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Women's Long Trail 60 Backpack:
I rented this pack first for a weekend trek. It was the first time I'd returned from a backpacking trip without sore shoulders or back. Decided it made more sense to buy it rather than fix my old one.

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Women's Long Trail 60 Backpack:
This pack was a holiday gift from my boyfriend, and it was by far my favorite. I stuffed it with more than 50lbs worth of necessities and it held up well, and was pretty comfortable to boot...until I tried to put it on sunburned shoulders. The mesh fabric covering the shoulder straps felt like a cheese-grater on my skin. Made me jealous of the nice, plush straps on his pack! Also, the fabric around the inside zipper of the bottom compartment ripped, but probably due to my own over-zealous packing, not the quality of the bag. Overall, good backpack, just don't push it past capacity and sew some soft fabric to your shoulder contact points.
