Comments about MERRELL Men's Refuge Pro WP Hiking Shoes:
I like the shoe and use it to walk, hike and even do a little trail running. It gives good support and feels solid when I hike and walk in it, although a little clunkier than some competitor's shoes I have. The price is very competitive. I was disappointed that the first time I pulled on the heel loop, it broke off in my hand. Not the end of the world, but you like to see products well made with attention to all details. It makes me wonder about the overall quality, which I'll only know after I've walked a couple hundred miles.

Comments about MERRELL Men's Refuge Pro WP Hiking Shoes:
Bought the Refuge's to replace my older style Merrell hiking shoes. They felt great in the store after walking around in them for a few minutes, so I figured I would go with them.
I took a day to break them in by wearing them, doing stuff around the house and they still felt pretty good, so I decided to plan a hike for the next day. I picked a nice 17 mile loop to do and by about the 6th mile, I started to feel a little pain(not too bad just figured they still had some more breaking in to do) and by the end of the hike, I could barely walk. It was the most painful thing I've ever experienced on a hike.
Going up hills, the back of my heels, got all blistered up and I had to stop multiple times to bandage them/give them a break. Then, while descending, my index toe hurt so much and I got blisters on that as well.
My foot is a size 10.5, a little wide and my index toe is larger than my big toe. These shoes might be good for other feet, but definitely not mine.

Comments about MERRELL Men's Refuge Pro WP Hiking Shoes:
I bought these for my husband as a gift. They are basically the water resistant version of the Merrels he has been wearing ("Moab"I think is the style he already had). After wearing Merrels he says they are so comfortable he won't go back to any other shoes. He is on his feet a lot for work and these make a huge difference in how his legs/feet feel at the end of the day. He strongly prefers them over some fancy, expensive shoes he tried that were supposed to be super comfortable. He is not a hiker but loves these shoes for every day use. He is very pleased with this brand.

Just like certain cuts of jeans feel right, Merrells always feel right to me. I've never owned a pair that I didn't like.

Comments about MERRELL Men's Refuge Pro WP Hiking Shoes:
great looking shoe, just like the online photo and also very light. However, extremely narrow for a wide and also not full length. apparently not that uncommon with this brand per the sales staff.

Great shoes at a great price. Bought them for a backpacking trip to Colorado and will be great for that. Took them on a number of day hikes so far and they performed great.

Comments about MERRELL Men's Refuge Pro WP Hiking Shoes:
I buy Merrells because I have wide feet and they are always comfortable. These do not the width of my previously Merrell's, but are braking in well. Great arch support.
