Comments about CAMELBAK 100 oz. Antidote Reservior:
This is the best choice for hydration when you know you will need plenty of water. Not having to take a "packs off" break in order to get the Nalgene bottle out (I found reaching around very difficult) is a huge advantage.
However, this has one major design flaw. The tube that connects to the bladder is kept in only by a single yellow button. All that has to happen is for that button to get pushed, and *POP* out comes the tube. I discovered this the hard way my first day hiking back out of the Grand Canyon. With a full pack (I was carry about 60 lbs) there are sometimes going to be things pushing against other things inside, and something managed to push that yellow button even though the Camelbak was in its designated pouch. I had to unpack and repack in order to get the Camelbak out to fix it. Fortunately, very little leaked out. I believe the system is at least designed to close the hole when the tube pops out. But really, this is a big blunder in my opinion. It should be some kind of screw-in system that can't be undone accidentally. I know EMS reviews comments on products, so please pass along this to the Camelbak company, it is a serious issue.
Still, this is what I would go with, only because when it is working properly (which for me was 5 out of 6 days and on the day it had the problem, it was only that one time) there is nothing better. You just feed the tube through the designated hole in the pack and tuck it under the chest-strap while you're hiking. It also works great with powdered Gatorade. I was worried at first the powder would clog the tube where it connects to the bladder, but I never encountered that problem.
