Comments about SEATTLE SPORTS Kayak Fishing Anchor Kit:

I've used this anchor to fish off the coast of Bermuda. It has lasted approximately 3 years ina salt water environment. The anchor is light enough to carry around, but strong enough to secure the kayak in windy conditions. I'd recommend it.

Comments about SEATTLE SPORTS Kayak Fishing Anchor Kit:

Well, I purchased this because I do alot (and I mean alot) of fishing from my Kayak. This anchor is extremely light, but it digs right into the mud/sand/rock/etc on the bottom of the waterfall, lake, river, or pond I'm fishing in. [...] I told all my fellow employees about my grappling hook and they all think I'm the biggest badest dude in the office. And to my surprise. It works quite well as a grappling hook. This thing has actually saved my life. There are times when I'll actually wrap it around a large rock and repel myself down-river and close to those dangerous falls so I can catch those salmon swimming up them. Thank You EMS,

Comments about SEATTLE SPORTS Kayak Fishing Anchor Kit:

Used it in strong currents with sandy bottoms and it didn't hold all that well at first but once it caught on something it held me well. It comes in very handy if you don't want to lose ground when you rest or when you fish.

        Best Uses

        • Flat Still Water
        • Fresh Water

Comments about SEATTLE SPORTS Kayak Fishing Anchor Kit:

I bought this hoping to be able to anchor my kayak for fishing in windy conditions on the lake. It was very east to set up and had everything I needed to attach it to the boat. The only issue is that the anchor needs a little more weight so that it will hold the kayak in place on a windy day. I would not recommend this to a friend. You would be better off buying the parts in a hardware store and ordering a heavier anchor.

Comments about SEATTLE SPORTS Kayak Fishing Anchor Kit:

I bought this for my Future Beach Angler 160 and it worked great. I was worried about the claw anchor getting stuck on the bottom of the pond (i was at Rocky Pond in Boylston Ma)but it did not. It grabbed a bunch of vegetation from the bottom when i brought the anchor back in but the retrieval was actually quite easy.

Comments about SEATTLE SPORTS Kayak Fishing Anchor Kit:

Works well in slow moving water, but not effecttive in small surf. Used it just outside harbour on Cape Cod bay and the small waves were pushing me around easily. This was my first try with it. That being said, it functions as advertised. I suppose you can use a small weight on top of the anchor to solve this problem.
