- Openair Backpanel: Vented backpanel and soft 3D breathable mesh on the hipbelt and shoulder straps.
- Vented Backpanel: Black Diamond Ascent Series packs have a vented backpanel with contoured channels for maximum airflow.
- Customizable Torso Length: ergoACTIV packs are quickly adjusted using a 4 mm hex key.

Efficient Equipment Design
- Streamlined Silhouette: Sleek, slim designs save weight and eliminate clutter while maintaining usability.
- Stretch Mesh Pockets (Launch / Enduro): Side stretch mesh pockets plus a large front stretch pocket that pulls dual duty as storage and compression.
- Toughweld Abrasion Panels (Ascent): Accessory abrasion panels are attached to the pack using ToughWeld, our proprietary, patent-pending process of overlay welding that intensifies the edge's bond for superior overall strength.
- Accessory Storage (Launch / Enduro): Hipbelt pockets, removable sleeping pad straps and webbing loops for ice tools or trekking poles.
- Accessory Storage (Ascent): PickPockets or IceLinks secure technical ice tools or piolets to the pack. Other equipment attachment points include a welded crampon patch or pocket with available attachment straps, and tuck-away rope straps and helmet holders.
- Adaptable Volumes: Compression straps, removable top pockets and roll-top closures for easy volume adjustment. Select Ascent Series packs offer strippable supspension components.
