Comments about VASQUE Men's Snowblime UltraDry Winter Hiking Boots:

I've got two NH day trips (Kinsman and Lafayette in the Whites) in snow conditions wearing these with snoshoes and spikes. They were a very good deal on sale, are waterproof so far (Gore Tex can break down,) they have a nice rubber surround about an inch up the sides and toe (hopefully it won't start to peel loose too soon.) They are a nice, traditional design leather boot for spikes or snow shoes.

Fit is particular to a person, I would have bought wides but they were not offered. I'd say these are a bit wide in the akle compared to the footbox, proportionally, as evidenced by how they lace up. I have felt the rivets from the lacing eyelets under snow shoe straps after a number of hours, not unusual, this can be addressed with mole foam if it's a problem.

They have a good amount of fore/aft akle freedom, and are not a super rigid high-tongued solid ankle-bracetype boot for 50 lb packs on rocks. The soles are stiff and in part a sort of gum rubber that might not be as good as Vibram for traction in dry and wet on clear rock, but they aren't for that anyway, they are for snow. Good heelside loop for pulling on, and little metal gaitor loop on front are nice features. Notice there are not a lot of choices in this category.

      Good purchase, they work!

Comments about VASQUE Men's Snowblime UltraDry Winter Hiking Boots:

I have worn these boots on several hikes in the whites this winter both snowshoeing and with micro spikes and they performed very well.Temps ranging from 0 to 30 degrees and no cold feet.MY only complaint was getting the laces to stay tight.I received a tip from EMS on tying the laces and on my last hike of Mt. Cube It did make a difference.

Comments about VASQUE Men's Snowblime UltraDry Winter Hiking Boots:

I have to say that in the the three or so weeks I've had these boots, I love them and am looking forward to many years of use! They are warm and extremely comfortable and seem to be completely waterproof as advertised. They were comfortable straight out of the box.

I bought the Snowblimes largely for casual wear to keep my feet warm here in New England winters while about town, and while walking my dog, but I can totally see this boot being a very good winter hiking boot probably up to moderate loads. I'll probably pick up another pair for that purpose sometime soon.

The one detraction - other than too short shoelaces that prevent doing a double knot - is that the soles can be slick as snot on ice, so some form of ice cleats would be needed in such conditions. Other than that, the soles offer excellent traction in other conditions and clear nicely of snow and mud as one walks.

        I highly recommend these boots!

Comments about VASQUE Men's Snowblime UltraDry Winter Hiking Boots:

I wore these boots for the first time over the course of a cold end-of-January week doing long day hikes with snowshoes (one day without on a hard-surfaced road trail) in the High Peaks region of the Adirondacks. I found them to be excellent: warm, waterproof and comfortable. At the sale price in particular you can't beat the value. I have a wide foot, taking a triple-E dress shoe, so comfort is always an issue for me and I found these to be perfectly comfortable. The only negative I found was some end-of-day rubbing above my ankle when I laced to the very top. I went one notch down on the lacing and that resolved the problem while providing plenty of support.

Comments about VASQUE Men's Snowblime UltraDry Winter Hiking Boots:

I finally broke down and bought a pair of winter boots for winter hiking in the Whites. The local stores didn't carry many choices. I tried the snowblime on in the store (very limited sizes in the store) and ended up ordering online so I could get the size I needed.

I wore them for a few days prior to taking them out on the trails. My initial complaint is that the tongue put a lot of pressure on the front part of my foot and ankle. But, with midweight socks and sock liners I didn't notice the pressure as much. I also noticed that while the boots are pretty stiff and offer good ankle support there is almost no arch support. That wont be a problem when I throw my aftermarket inserts in the boots.

Other than the above issues, I am very happy with the warmth, water resistance and ankle support.

Comments about VASQUE Men's Snowblime UltraDry Winter Hiking Boots:

I have done a couple of hikes in snow. The boots are warm ... that's good. My problem is the boot has a lot of space around the foot. I find that unless I pack it with an extra insole and extra socks my foot slides left/right and there is play in the heel. Because of the extra space above my foot it is hard for me to tighten the laces enough to have a snug fit. I'm thin and so is my foot, so I think this boot would fit a heavier person better... you know... a fatter foot. Otherwise I do think this is a solid boot for winter cconditions... cushy sides, tough exterior.
