Eastern Mountain Sports to Support Vermont Flood Response and Recovery Efforts
July 19th, 2023 – As of July 18th, Eastern Mountain Sports is partnering with The Vermont Community Foundation to support the VT Flood Response and Recovery Fund in disaster response and recovery efforts across the state following heavy rainfall resulting in flooding. Customers can donate to the fund at all Eastern Mountain Sports locations at point of sale and for a limited time, donations will be matched by EMS® and brand partners Smartwool®, Deuter®, and Osprey®.
“It is with a heavy heart that I express our profound sorrow over the floods and devastation in our own backyard,” says Kerry Muricchio EVP, GMM at Eastern Mountain Sports. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Vermont who have been impacted. We not only stand with Vermont, but we also stand with our loyal customers, dedicated employees and vendor communities who have all been affected by these destructive forces. In these difficult times, we will continue to offer support, assistance, and resources to help rebuild and restore the communities that we hold dear. Together, we will overcome this adversity and emerge stronger than ever before.” The Community Foundation is “drawing on our extensive network of key partners and nonprofit organizations at all levels- state, regional, and local- both to understand the needs of these communities and to move the funding out to them,” the Foundation site states. The VT Flood Response and Recovery Fund 2023 was established by the Foundation to support Vermonters and continues to provide updates as it aligns with nonprofit organizations and state officials.
