Creating such a barrier, these mid-length performance MTB socks use two crucial technologies. Hydrostop, as one measure, adds silicone-free elastic taping to create a close bond between the sock’s cuff and the skin, stopping moisture before it rolls all the way down. Then, StretchDry, a waterproof, breathable, and windproof material, adds a hydrophilic membrane, which allows vapor to escape without water passing through.

• Note: Because of the bond Hydrostop creates with the skin, it’s recommended that you wear these socks outdoors only and not for an extended period of time. Prolonged use may result in excessive rubbing against the skin, which may create minor irritation in a small number of cases
